The O’Neill School offers direct admission to students on a case-by-case basis. To be eligible for direct admission, you must:
Apply to Indiana University
Indicate a major from the O’Neill School on your application
Meet our selective direct admission criteria
To be competitive for direct admission, you will need to have a strong academic record. Candidates are reviewed on their performance in academic coursework, quality of application essay(s), and additional activities and achievements.
If you have been accepted to Indiana University Bloomington and would like to petition for direct admission to the O'Neill School, you may do so before March 1.

The majority of our students come to IU through standard admission and join O’Neill after taking one of our introductory courses. We have a dedicated team of academic advisors who can walk you through our admission requirements and our application process.
You can gain admission into the O’Neill School after satisfying the following requirements:
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.3
Complete the General Education requirements in English Composition and Mathematical Modeling
Complete at least 12 credit hours
