Parents and other concerned adults
Parents can rest assured that their children are safer in their schools and childcare centers when the risk of pesticide exposure is reduced. Toxic chemical exposure endangers children's health, as their smaller, rapidly developing bodies may be more sensitive to harmful chemicals. Additionally, their activities may put them at greater risk through more dangerous and unanticipated contact with pesticides. While epidemiological studies are in their early stages, there exists great concern that excessive pesticide exposure at a young age can contribute to serious developmental problems.
By encouraging your child's school or childcare center to adopt the cluster of technologies known as IPM, you may help them create a safer learning and growing environment. Utilizing alternative techniques to rid schools and childcare centers of pests without introducing further chemicals has been recognized as a highly advantageous strategy for pest management.
