The Bridge Project is a joint effort
between the Institute for Development Strategies at Indiana University,
Erasmus University, Rotterdam, and the EIM Business and Policy Research
center in The Netherlands.
Each year students from Erasmus University Rotterdam or from Indiana
University, Bloomington, travel to the other institution. While
visiting they participate in workshops, seminars, and social events
designed to educate students from both sides of the Atlantic.
the first project
In spring 2000, David Audretsch and Roy Thurik co-taught
a course on the determinants of entrepreneurship. The course
focused on evaluations of five nations: the United States, the
Netherlands, France, Great Britain, and Germany. Teams of US and Dutch students
were established to carry out the evaluations, with the high point of
the semester coming when 12 Dutch students traveled from the Netherlands
to Bloomington to work on the project with their US partners.
Results of the project were published in a book by Kluwer Academic
Publishing. Learn

Other projects have had students from IU travel to
Rotterdam in 2001 and 2002.
The 2003 Bridge Project features 18 students from
Erasmus University traveling to Indiana University in April 2003.
