Betty has worked for Indiana University since 1972.  She started working at the Institute for Development Strategies in 1992.  She oversees the daily operation of the Institute and assists in coordinating the Transatlantic Policy Consortium, held in Europe and the United States, and the I.U. LeaD Program.

Betty is also a student at Indiana University, majoring in Sociology.

In 1994, she was nominated for one of IU's Special Merit Awards.  In February 2008, she was a recipient for the 2007-2008 SPEA Professional Staff Recognition Award. Prior to working at the Institute, she has worked at the IU Law School, University Division, and the IU Police Department.
