The background of the workshop is a newly started co-operative research project at the Department
of Economics and Computer Science at the University Trollhättan/Uddevalla in Uddevalla and
Jönköping International Business School at Jönköping University. The purpose of the research
project is to carry out an assessment of European Union related regional policy initiatives in the so
called "Fyrstadsregionen" ("The four cities region"). This region consists of
Lysekil, Trollhättan,
Uddevalla and Vänersborg and the smaller surrounding municipalities within these labour market
(commuting) regions.
