Areas of Research

Her current work examines the scope and community dimensions of the Indiana nonprofit sector. Her previous research and publications have examined the American welfare system, how nonprofit organizations manage funding relations, the facility needs of nonprofit human service organizations, the structure of private child welfare organizations, longitudinal changes in the grants and contract system of a large state human service agency, and public and philanthropic planning and funding structures in human services. She received the 2005 Award for Distinguished Achievement and Leadership in Nonprofit and Voluntary Action Research from ARNOVA (Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action).  For more information, see full background sketch.
