The Working Paper Series at the Institute for Family and Social Responsibility (FASR) is a working paper series devoted to multidisciplinary topics of social policy and is directed towards an audience that includes practitioners, policy makers, scholars, and students. The Series aspires to contribute to the body of substantive and methodological knowledge concerning public policies, programs, and administration that affect children and families. The editors seek manuscripts that:
The Series is committed to accepting manuscripts that illustrate an array of ideological and disciplinary perspectives, with emphasis on quality and clarity of exposition. Authors of accepted papers will be furnished with five bound and professionally printed copies of their paper. Abstracts of each paper will be posted on the Institutes web-page. Papers will be available to the general public for a nominal fee. Editors will consider the following criteria in assessing potential contributions: the value of the information to the audience of the Series, substantive contribution to the field of social policy, and the overall quality of the manuscript. Editorial Policy (1) Submission of a manuscript clearly implies that the work has not been published previously. (2) The editorial staff will work with authors to improve the overall quality of manuscripts, distribute papers to appropriate audiences, and pursue journal publication. Manuscript Requirements (1) Submit three (3) copies plus an electronic version on computer disk (preferably Microsoft Word). All manuscripts must include an abstract and a biographical statement about each author. (2) All copy must be typed, double-spaced on 8 ½ by 11 inch white paper using one side only. Lines must not exceed 6 inches. Margins must be a minimum of 1 ½ inches. (3) Type each table on a separate page. Insert location note at the proper place in text, e.g., "Table 1 about here." (4) References in text are cited within parentheses using the author-date style. The reference list must begin on a new page following the text and must be in alphabetical order. Authors must ensure that their references are cited accurately. (5) The electronic file must match the hard copy of the final accepted version. The accuracy of the disc and hard copies is the responsibility of the author(s). |
