5th Annual SPEA Young Researchers Conference

Woven Threads of Knowledge: Interdisciplinary Strategies for Progress in Public and Environmental Issues

Saturday, February 5, 2005

Each year, the Association for SPEA PhD Students sponsors and organizes a conference for doctoral students to share their research with other students and faculty in a supportive, academic environment.  This is an opportunity for students to develop their own research and to receive constructive feedback on their papers.

All PhD students on the IU-Bloomington campus are welcome to submit abstracts for papers that address issues directly related to environmental or public concerns. Relevant topics include such areas as: public policy, e-government, management, social movements, government finance, development, non-profit organizations, or environmental policy. Both theoretical and empirical work will be accepted. Students can submit an individually- or co-authored paper; a panel consisting of 3-5 papers on a related topic; or a topical roundtable discussion of 4-5 presenters.

AGAIN THIS YEAR

These awards are in the areas of: environmental science and policy, economic development, institutional analysis, nonprofit organizations and human dimensions of global economic change. Additional information about these awards is listed below. To be eligible for an award, full papers need to be submitted to (capruett@indiana.edu) by January 14, 2005.
